As Delhi goes under weekend curfew from Friday night, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has started issuing e-passes for movement of individuals engaged in essential services and in cases of emergencies. those that require a movement pass in Delhi can book an equivalent at the official website of Delhi Police, delhipolice.nic.in.

The Delhi police has started a ‘Movement Pass Helpline’ to facilitate the supply of the e-passes for those eligible under the DDMA order. The helpline number, 011-23469900, has been found out at the police station . People facing difficulties in getting an e-pass also can turn the helpline number.

“The e-pass possessed by an individual for movement connected to essential goods and services during night curfew shall even be valid for weekend curfew period, ” read a letter issued by the DDMA on Friday.

Candidates appearing for examinations this weekend in Delhi won't require curfew e-passes, the DDMA clarified. The DDMA directed that “any person/student shall be allowed for movement during the curfew to seem in examination on production of valid admit card”.

“The examination staff deployed for exam duties shall even be allowed to travel on production of valid card ,” the order read.


How to get a weekend curfew e-pass?

Currently, the e-passes are being issued by the Delhi government for those that are engaged in providing essential services, but don't have a government ID. These include individuals associated with commercial and personal establishments -- like shops handling food, groceries, pharmaceuticals, or people working in banks, insurance offices, private security agencies and petrol pumps, among others -- and people going for COVID vaccination during the weekend curfew.


What’s allowed and what’s not amid the weekend curfew in Delhi:

1) Only essential services will operate.


2) Curfew passes are going to be given for marriages, travellers heading to airports, railway stations, et al. .


3) Gyms, pools, malls, auditoriums to stay closed till further orders.


4) Cinema halls are going to be allowed to work at 30% capacity.


5) One weekly market allowed per day per zone.


6) No dine-in are going to be allowed at restaurants, only take-aways allowed.


7) At marriages and funerals, up to 50 and 20 persons respectively are going to be allowed.


How to apply for Delhi curfew pass online

The DDMA has made it mandatory for people to get e-passes for travel during the weekend curfew hours i.e. from Friday 10 pm till Monday 6 am. DDMA clearly states that only essential services are going to be allowed.


Types of movement passes:

1) for people having personal emergencies requiring a visit to doctor or hospital, buying essentials items, or the other .


2) for people engaged within the delivery of emergency or essential services within and out of doors Delhi during the movement period.


How to apply for an e-pass:

  • Check the Delhi Police website at www.delhipolice.nic.in
  • Click on the ‘movement pass’ tab
  • Create an account to log in
  • Login using your ‘username’ and password
  • Fill up the appliance form
  • Upload your picture and proof of identification like Aadhar card, driver's license , PAN Card, passport, voter ID card
  • Submit your application
  • You will be told through SMS as soon as your movement pass is approved
  • Login to your account and download the Movement Pass
  • Save it on your smartphone or take a printout to point out it wherever required.
