Ten newborn babies lost their lives after a fireplace broke out at a hospital in Bhandara within the early hours. Seven others were rescued. The shocking incident happened at 2 am today at Sick Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) of Bhandara District General Hospital.

Bhandara Collector Sandeep Kadam told The Indian Express, “A fire broke call at the outborn section of the hospital around 1.30 am. At the time, there have been two nurses and a helper within the children’s ward. They immediately raised an alarm. the hearth brigade was called out. But, before it arrived, staffers tried to rescue the youngsters and managed to save lots of seven infants.”
He added, “Rescue efforts were suffering from continuous explosions inside the ward. The staffers couldn’t rescue all the youngsters .”
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray spoke to Health Minister Rajesh Tope also as District Collector and Superintendent of Police of Bhandara district. He has also ordered a search into the matter. over the hearth incident in District General Hospital. He has also ordered a probe: Chief Minister’s Office (CMO)
The government announced Rs 5 lakh as compensation to the kin of the deceased
Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the incident “heart-wrenching”. Home Minister Amit Shah and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi conveyed their condolences.
